One of my favorite things in the world is k-pop, or Korean pop. When I discovered it in 2018, I have never let go of it. There are so many different girl groups, boy groups, and soloists in the k-pop industry that bring a variety of different songs every month. Be on the lookout for many new comebacks and debuts in the upcoming month of March. January and February has brought us many comebacks, as well as a debut, from many different groups and soloists. K-pop artists can comeback with albums or just a single. Many newer groups like MCND or TREASURE, who made their debuts in 2020, would debut with a mini album or single. A mini album is an album that contains around five to seven songs. After those groups have made many comebacks, they can start coming out with full albums that contain up to 20 songs. Groups that have been around for a little while, like BTS and TWICE, have multiple full albums. CHUNGHA is a soloist who just released her first full album in February. Many groups and soloists also make comebacks with Japanese albums or singles. For example, one of my favorite groups, NCT 127, recentlyreleased their newest Japanese album “Loveholic” in February with the title track “gimme gimme.” K-pop artist’s Japanese albums usually would contain a Japanese version of the title track from their most recent Korean comeback, with a few other side tracks, and the title track of the album. March is an exciting month for k-pop as many groups and soloists are surprising us with their new songs. This lineup contains newer groups that recently debuted to groups like GHOST9 to a group that debuted in 2005, Super Junior. During the week of March 1-5, ATEEZ will comeback with their title track, “Fireworks,” and album “ZERO: FEVER Part 2.” VERIVERI will comeback with their title track “Get Away” and album “SERIES ‘O’ ROUND: HALL.” iKON is coming back with the title track “Why Why Why,” RAIN is collabing with CHUNGHA with the album “Why Don’t We.” CHECKMATE is coming back with the title track “You” and G-reyish is coming back with the title track “Blood Night” and album “1st Mini Album ‘M’.” March 8-12 will bring us a comeback from BDC (BOYS DA CAPO) with the album “THE INTERSECTION: DISCOVERY,” and MONSTA X is bringing us a Japanese comeback with the title track “Wanted.” GHOST9 is having a comeback with the album “NOW: Where we are, here.” DPR IAN is coming back with the title track “MITO.” Also, get prepared for an exciting solo debut from BLACKPINK Rosé. From March 15-31, there will be comebacks from WOODZ, Super Junior, THE BOYZ and DREAMCATCHER. WOODZ will make a comeback with a new single album and Super Junior will make a comeback with the album “The Renaissance.” THE BOYZ and DREAMCATCHER will be having Japanese comebacks with the album “Breaking Dawn” and title track “Eclipse.” TREASURE will also be having a Japanese comeback. Weekly, PENTAGON, and WINNER Kang Seung Yoon will also be having comebacks in March, but they do not have a release date yet. Look forward to two group debuts from Ciipher and NTX, who also don’t have a release date What an exciting month we have coming up for k-pop fans! As a k-pop fan myself, I will be very busy with supporting all these groups with their upcoming comebacks and debuts. Supporting all of them despite COVID-19 is very important, as we want them to know that we are here for them. It is the artists’ job to provide us music and our job as fans is to support them. Watching their music videos on YouTube, purchasing their albums, and simply cheering them on will make a huge impact on helping them have a successful comeback.
